Internship – Architectural Planning / Model Making

An internationally renowned, New York-based artist seeks a full-time intern to start in August. The candidate must be an architecture student or a recent graduate looking to gain valuable experience and new skills in areas of architectural planning and visualizations. Physical model building and technical drawing skills are required as well as an interest in contemporary art. Some experience with 3D computer modeling and 2D drafting programs such as Vectorworks, Rhino or AutoCAD is a plus. Graphic work skills in photoshop is also a plus. The candidate must be hardworking, details oriented and able to work independently seeing projects through to the end.

Job hierarchy: The job holder reports directly to the Artist and Studio Manager

Requirements / what we are looking for:

  • Creation of technical drawings, visualizations and installation manuals
  • building physical models for upcoming exhibitions
  • exceptional communication and team work skills
  • good knowledge of Adobe photoshop
  • strong graphic, drawing and presentation skills
  • design/problem solving skills

Available to work Monday through Friday. August 1st start date. The internship is set for a minimum period of three months and a small stipend is offered.
